Focus
Serve alongside long-term workers in England! This trip will be strategically focused on prayer, demonstrating the gospel through service, and personal evangelism. You can expect to engage with locals, learn about their culture, serve them, offer to pray with them and seek to share the gospel with them. You’ll help the long-term team there share the gospel and seek out people who are interested in learning more about Jesus.
On this trip, you can expect to:
- Learn how to have spiritual conversations and care through prayer
- Learn about different cultures
Trip Activities
- The team will receive a whole day of orientation and gospel-sharing modeling.
- Personal/small team prayer
- Ministry around the city, engaging people through conversation and prayer.
- A daily time to debrief which will include prayer, reading the Word, and sharing stories from your day. This is a time when the team can share how they saw the Lord at work and process their experiences together.
- Share meals with our long-term team, their ministry partners, and/or people who are interested in hearing about Jesus. This will be an opportunity to hear more about the ministry partner's work and be an encouragement to them.
Logistics
Team members will walk a lot as well as take public transportation (metro or taxi) to get around the city. The team will stay at an Airbnb or hotel near where the ministry partner lives. Rooms will be same genered.
Team Leader
Trae Vacek is serving as team leader for this team. Tallon Martin and Sara Lopez will be adult leaders on the trip.
Trip Trainings
Our goal is to send teams that are a blessing to our partners which means sending a team that is fully prepared when they reach their destination. To ensure our teams are ready, we have teams go through four mandatory trainings. Trainings are designed to help each participant grow as a disciple of Jesus, be fully prepared for your time on the field, get to know your team before travel, and identify your role in fulfilling the Great Commission even after the trip is over. There will be 4 mandatory trainings before the trip. The dates will be listed in your Service Reef profile under meetings once your application is approved. Trainings are normally held on Sunday afternoons. If you have to miss a training because of a prior commitment or illness, you will need to connect with your Team Leader to review all the material you missed. Missing more than one training is grounds for removal from the team.
Support Raising
All trip participants are encouraged to support raise for their trip. It is an opportunity to see how God provides. Global Outreach will be doing an in-person support-raising training on March 2nd, 2:30pm-4:30pm. We will also provide you with a support-raising packet to help walk you through the process.
